Native Art Platter #9 with Eagle Design

Artist's notes

Highly-figured maple platter.

The Thunderbird is the most powerful of all supernatural animals in the Heiltsuk culture, a great chief transformed. I believe the more beautiful the bird is, the better I can become. It is a manifestation of the spirit. This work was named “In Motion” because the creator says “If you don’t move, I don’t move”. We cannot live life just waiting and wishing for things to happen. We need to put our lives into motion.

Now lives in the Bahamas with a collector there.
